The Atomic Essay
How and why I'm writing for you
We consume digital content differently. As we scroll and scroll we watch for things that jump out. Things that we can ingest quickly and without too much effort. That's not a jab, that's just how we're all wired.
It's just like the channel surfing habit that showed up with the advent of the TV remote. Jerry Seinfeld famously said, "We don't care what's on TV. We only care what else is on TV."
We treat our news feeds the same way. So I want to account for that and try to be useful and helpful in a way that doesn't disrupt your flow.
Enter the "Atomic Essay"
Atomic essays are meant to convey a chunky bite of useful info in a very short amount of reading time. Think 250 words. I want to get my point across quickly so that you'll know if its useful, interesting, or entertaining. Once one or more of those boxes is checked, you can dig in further.
I will occasionally take an in depth dive into a topic. I love doing that. And I won't always be able to stick to 250 words. But the daily rhythm will consist mainly of quick hits.
Thanks for being here. I hope you enjoy!
