How I Traded It: QQQ Short – Feel Meets Framework
A DeMark 9, stretched internals, and DP’s tape-reading instinct at work
On the morning of June 4, 2025, David Prince dropped a line in The Inner Circle:
“I think QQQ sees 526 today.”
No over-explaining. Just a read. That intuitive call sparked observation of a clean, technically valid short setup—executed with precision, and closed before the market could get turned around.
🔍 The Setup
QQQ pushed hard off the open—stretching into the upper Bollinger Band and flashing multiple short-term extremes:
Bollinger Band Width Percentile was signaling extremes (as shown by the red bars mid-chart)
Two quick consolidation candles followed at the highs
A DeMark 9 sell setup printed on the 2-minute chart
RSI hit overbought levels
These were all signals of potential short-term exhaustion—but they weren’t enough on their own to signal a real A+ trade.
The difference was DP.
“He said 526. I trusted that read—and the chart gave me just enough structure to get involved.”
Not incredibly convincing on its own. But paired with DP’s instinct? Setup confirmed. ✅
🚀 The Trade
This was a planned, tactical day trade, sized appropriately for the short-term structure and timeframe—as big as I wanted to be for this type of setup, but not a full-on swing position.
Entry: 529.15
Stop: 529.71 (above the morning high)
Cover 1: 529.39 (early trim to reduce exposure)
Cover 2: 527.52 (momentum release)
Cover 3: 526.22 (target zone achieved)
Final target hit just above 526. DP’s call tagged—then price reversed.
🧠 Reflections
“I was patient. I was deliberate. There’s a lot of really good things that just happened in that trade.”
“This was a tactical setup, traded with structure and clarity.”
“This is what it looks like when feel meets framework.”
These were pulled straight from my journal after the trade.
Honest. Unfiltered. Immediate.
🎯 DP Doesn’t Do Fancy—But He Sees It All
If you’ve traded with DP, you’ve heard it:
“You guys with your Fibs, and 9ers, and all the fancy stuff…”
He jokes that he’s not a chartist. But the guy reads the charts like he reads english.
He may not lean on indicators or DeMark signals. But he doesn’t need to.
He called $526 while the rest of us were still waiting for confirmation.

Instinct + structure = tradeable edge
Defined risk allows full-size conviction
Scaling out adds clarity
Fancy indicators aren’t the point—the read is
Team matters—especially when instinct and execution align
Final Thoughts
Some trades grind. Others snap.
This one snapped. And it did so with confirmation on both the chart and in the gut of a seasoned trader.
