Trump Talks Tariffs After The Close
The Markets
The four major stock indexes are still in a bearish, choppy range since we last checked in a week ago.
In the ‘bearish’ bucket, we can see new lower lows (marked by the red U shapes) on each chart in the roadmap. What’s worse, only one (DIA) was able to stay above the recent March 13 pivot low. So our ‘sequence of higher highs and higher lows’ watchlist item is gone.
In the ‘maybe almost bullish’ bucket, prices are back above the 5-day MA averages. But this is little consolidation since they are all declining.
Today’s rally provided some tradeable moves, but expectations for the life span of the move were kept incredibly short with Trump scheduled to speak on tariffs once again after the 4:00 PM close, an event that is being labeled “Liberation Day.”

The Trade
So, once again, we wait for better, longer-term swing setups.
Short-term trade setups have been arriving with regular consistency. But since the bounce from the March 13 pivot fizzled out, we have yet to see any really juicy setups for a swing trade timeframe.
